the VW spec for TSI engines is not 507. It's 502 i think. I use Mobil 1 - 0W-40 - European Car formula which meets VW 502 requirement. For TDI you will need Mobil 1 5W-30 ESP Formula. It's special low ash oil that won't clog up your diesel particulate filter with ash when it burns the oil.

I will chime in on this oil change process. Just did my first TDI oil change on a Q7. Did it the old school way by draining oil under the car. First of all, the oil drain bolt it kind of hidden you have to use a socket extension to get to it. With that being said, BE VERY CAREFUL when you tighten the bolt back up. I did not have a torque wrench and was playing it safe by not tightening it up too hard. Don't get me wrong i still tightened it pretty hard, but it wasn't enough. Next day i found a puddle of oil under the car. Initially thought i messed up the threads, but then logic kicked in because i was very careful not to cross thread the bolt and overtighten it. So i went back under the car, and tightened it up some more. Took decent amount of strength, but it was enough to torque it to spec.
Moral of the story is, the hassle is not worth it on these cars. Go out, spend $80 on an oil extractor and use it for years hassle and worry free when doing future oil changes. This is the first car i had where an oil change via bottom drain was such a pain in the *ss.

I couldn't agree more. Having an extractor makes it a ridiculously easy job, especially with the top mounted oil filter. I just did my 15K mile oil change and it took maybe 15 minutes for the entire oil change, and 10 minutes of that was just waiting for the oil to get sucked out. We also have curbside oil recycling with our garbage collection. This has got to be the easiest car to change the oil on, ever.

(All Audi dealerships are doing the oil extractor.)
I perfer to do the extra time by going under the oil drain. By doing this it will give me a chance to inspect everything like oil leaks from the RAD, oil level sensor, oil pan and turbo holes pipe. Which i found the oil level sensor was leaking at 95,000 miles, but was watching this at 85,000 miles.

I just snapped off the same part.
I believe the part number is 059121086Q, number 31 in the picture below.
VW part# is the same
