Default DPF Delta P Sensor Bad????

2010 Q7 TDI, MIL come on while driving. Had checked at a local shop and they indicated P2453 code as DPF delta P implausible. checking threads seems to indicate the DPF sensor is bad. Looked at replacing myself as it is easy to get to and available for ~$45. Concern I have is Service Manual (Audi Manual) says you need to download the adaptive data first, replace the sensor and then restore the adaptive data. I haven't purchased the Ross-Tech software (yet) and looking for any insights, like do I really need to download and restore adaptive data. Seems to me the vehicle will learn what it needs over time. Also, shop that checked the computer mentioned a wiring issue and that the sensor wiring might need to be replaced. Looking for any info that can help, love the Q7 and don't want to mess anything up.

If you are beyond the 4/50k bumper to bumper it may be considered part of the emission warranty to 8/80k mi.

Yours should still be under warranty. I had the first 2010 TDI in my state and that was in November of 2009.
