apparently it's "start from the bottom of the panel and pull out working your way up. it's just clipped in"
Well, I got the bottom part separated, but the top won't budge and I don't want to break any clips off. Guess I'll have the dealer do it when I take in the car for service...

The front license plate holder is only held in by plastic clips at top and bottom edges of the holder. There are no screws (that I remember, nor that I can see in ETKA) holding it in place.

My Q is a Us version yes ther are clips on the top and bottom but also behind the US liceinse plate are 4 screws. Remove the screws and pull hard it will come off. I had changed my to the piano black filler panel.

use a butter knife but wrap it with a cloth so you dont scratch the surface. Most of all take your time. I too have an s-line version an created a very minor scratch from rushing.

Well, I finally had to take the wifes Q to the dealership for its 5K sevice and I asked them if they could change out the plates. When I picked up the car, the plates were changed out and there was no charge to do it! They didn't even break a tab on the old one, so now I have one to sell (with the plate option). It looks soooo much better.
