Front tow loop...did appearance have to take priority over function?

First of all, the manual doesn't even show where the tow loop hole is located on the front of an S-Line Q7. I first removed the lower passenger side grill next to the fog light and no hole. I then removed the middle grill by the turn signal and found it. My wife and kids are going to the beach today while I'm at work and I hope they don't get stuck again. Last weekend there were plenty of guys around to help me push the Q7 and get it unstuck. On weekdays it is all Moms & kids. Here is my dilema if they do get stuck and need a tow...do I have her ask the tow truck driver to carefully remove the delicate plastic grill without breaking any of the tabs so he can attach the tow loop or do I have him just wrap the tow hook around an aluminum suspension arm that probably shouldn't be in the middle of a 5000 pound tow. So, I took a rotozip and cut a small hole in the grill exactly where the tow loop goes and snapped the grill back on. Audi put little doors on the tow loop attachment points in the rear bumper. I wish they could have done the same up front.

Too bad the Audi offroad package is just cosmetic and not mechanical. I'll take a locking differential over a tin foil skid plate anyday.
