Default Future Diesel Availability

Diesel fuel has become ubiquitous and available nearly everywhere now. I completed a 6K mile trip through multiple states and never had an issue finding fuel in normal gas stations However, we are about to remove huge numbers of diesel vehicles from the road, many to never return. News accounts indicate most manufacturers have no intention of bringing new oil burners to the market. This will have a huge impact on diesel demand, at least for non truck uses. What are your collective thoughts regarding continued easily available quality diesel fuel in the future? It would be a shame to go back to the old days where diesel availability was few and far between for cars.

"We" being the automobile manufacturers, VW in particular, under pressure from our all too almighty government.

With the increase in large truck stop travel centers and all the diesel pickup trucks we see, that won't be a problem here in the South. I do worry about bio diesel though. Loves stations here are B15 now and I have to avoid them.

In addition to the B15 problem, we will have to look for auto diesel nozzles; if the stop selling to automobiles.

Good question on bio-diesel. Maybe incentive to continue developing/expanding will decrease based on demand. With regards to demand, I have no idea on the breakdown of OTR truck demand and consumer car/pickup demand. Maybe cars are not significant and we will see no change.

they will simply charge more to pay the development costs of cleaner diesels.
