Default Goodyear Tires - Arrggghhhh!!!

Just had my 275/45R20 Goodyear Eagle LS2 tires balanced using the newer Road Force balancer. 3 of the 4 had high and out of spec road force numbers; and one could see a hop in the tires as they turned on the balancer. By turning the tires on the rims, we were able to get the numbers down just marginally below the maximum allowable values to be in spec.

This is supposed to be a premium tire which is made in Germany. One would think they could do better with their quality control. When it comes time for replacement, they sure won't be Goodyear tires!

Not my first second or third choice - but before firestone

It's not a road hazard caused problem. My Goodyear dealer (from whom I did NOT purchase the tires) was going to replace the tires under warranty as defective, if we had not been able to get the RH numbers down below 20.

Agreed. If Yokohama or Continental make one in my size, that's probably the way I'll go when it's replacement time.

So far the Yokohama Parada Spec X have been great. Cannot speak for winter performance and would want to run them in deep snow.

Not a fan of Continental at all.

Winter performance is not a real issue for me.

I agree on the Yokohamas. I put AT-S on my G, and they had the lowest RF numbers the dealer had ever seen. They ride smoother and quieter than these Goodyears on my Q7. I put HT-S on my ML at 65000 miles (after having had Contis and Michelin), and it was like I had a new car again. Also very low RF numbers. Yokohama makes great tires!

Default Good luck

Strange...I personally have had really good luck with Goodyear tires, and they are actually the only ones that I buy just because there's never been any issues.

I put them on all of my previous vehicles, and no problems, ever. Except the time my wife got a nail in her Accord, drove the tire flat on the highway, and called to say that "I think my car is handling a little strange."

I just put the Eagle GT's on my A4, and I have to say that I'm impressed. If I could change only one thing, I would quiet them down a bit. Other than that, I'm a satisfied customer.

Agreed on the noise. The Yokohama Geloandar AT-S (aggressive off road tread) on my G are quieter on the highway that these premium all season Goodyear tires on my Q7.
