Since Christmas we have been having a start up problem with our 2013 Q7 3.0 TFSI Prestige. Had it checked two times by two different Audi services. The first one replaced one of the door locks, telling us the lock kept engaging and that drained the battery slightly, hence the reason the car was not starting up right. The second Audi place could not re-create the problem even though they held onto the car for several days. It happens almost every morning and rarely after that during the day. It's not the cold weather, because it's been warm in the mornings (50s-60s). I recorded the problem several times and I'm sending the car back to service again. I'm attaching a video that shows the problem. Our new Q7 is arriving next month and we will try to sell this one on our own. I cannot put the car out for sale like this with good conscience. Any ideas/suggestions what this can be?

it's strange how it eventually starts like normal after a long period of cranking. makes me think it could be a security system? I believe if it was a fuel pump issue it wouldn't start at all. then again it's an Audi so you never know. good luck.

Does it make any difference if you do it in two steps:
1. Press start button without engaging brake pedal
2. Wait a few seconds
3. Press start button again but this time engaging the brake
This makes a huge difference on my car (even though its a TDI so it's got glow plugs etc, which is a different story).

I tried it this morning, it does the same thing with the key in the ignition. The battery is still the original. The car was three years old this month.
