Help I was unloading boot and didn't realise the boot handle was stuck up and it came apart.

Nothing is snapped but for the life of me I can't get it back together. Hopefully the photos help - but basically there is a pole that threads through the handle and slots in hole to fix in place. The little pole is too long so that when it does slot in place it stays there. The only way to get slot in would be to bend it in - however once threaded through the handle there is no way to bend it enough to reach the slot. The handle makes it too rigid.

I have tried a reasonable amount of force but anymore and I am sure something will snap.

Anyone have any ideas on how this fits back together it is really frustrating ... thank you in advance..

Constant fiddling and i actually just fixed it - I hope - it seemed that the pole was attached permanenty at one end but it came detached so was able to thread it right through - hopefully that will work and not keep coming detatched..
