Default HOw do the rain-sensing wipers work?

It's downpouring in Maine right, which means it's a great time to test out the Q7's gadgets. I've tried putting the wiper stalk in Intermittent, but it doesn't seem to work. How do I engage the sensor?

Move the stalk up one position and then dial in the thumb switch for sensitivety.

Default If it is pouring rain..

then one click up will just turn them on.
Only when it eases, they will progressively slow to intermittant and then stop.

I never have mine any other position. Wet damp pouring whatever, they usually cope just fine.

Once the sensor got a bit blocked so they kept coming on no matter what.
I never figured out if the problem was the dead bug outside or the damp spot inside ...but it went away so happy me!

Default Maybe as in "HOW"...there is a sensor at the bottom

of your screen.
Try washing bugs off your in a service station when its on ...makes you jump.
But it is a good way to see exactly where it is.<ul><li><a href="http://www.audi.com/audi/com/en2/tools/glossary/operation_comfort/rain_sensor.html">let Audi explain</a></li></ul>

I think the sensor is in the rear view mirror mounting point.

Default Thank you for that "HOW"...

I have always been curious about how they know the amount of rain (and I was on the right track with my guess), but never remember to go out and research it or ask it on here.

You just saved me at least 5 minutes of googling!

Yes, it is on the stalk itself and it resembles a thumb switch.
