Default How many miles are too many miles?

So now that I have started my search I was wondering at what point do things start to go bad and what things may go.

I would like to stay at or under 40,000 miles but some great deals are had in the 50,000 to 60,000 mile range and I wonder if I should just stay away or go for it?

I will also be looking at going with the air suspenion as well and wonder if it is has a big failure rate?

I know better to ask and not search, I found lots of threads on the Adaptive air so I have that covered, I will go with it.

Based on the Allroad, I would stay away from a used one with Air Suspension. But that is just me.

Had my 2008 Q7 3.0 TDI with pneumatic suspension from new. She now has 93000 km (about 58,000 miles) on her.

The suspension on my car has not had one single fault - and I adjust it a lot having a farm with lots of rutted dirt tracks. I usually drive in "offroad" now, as I like the extra ride height and have done for the past year. Before that I always kept her in "comfort" unless on the farm.

I can also tell you that the other Q7 in our family (a 2007 which I rarely drive) has even more km's (way over 120000) and also has had no problems whatsoever with the suspension.

All good info.

I guess I'm just not used to so many k on such new cars, my truck that is an 05 just hit 110,000 km and my wifes 04 is sitting at 107,000km right now so when I see an 07-08 with close to 100,000km or more I just wonder how much are these people driving LOL

My wife does not work and I work close to home so it adds up I guess.

I'm at 66,000 miles on my '07 4.2 with air suspension- so far-so good. Nothing major and it still drives like new. I still have a constant trickle of Audi's famous little faults occurring fairly regularly though. Things like a jammed sunshade, door handle sensors and recently a rear hatch mechanism that sounds like a machine gun firing when you open the rear hatch. Like a solenoid shorting out. So far the dealer is scratching their head on that one because of course the mechanism behaves perfectly when we take the car in.

I want an 07 because of the price but I want an 08 because of things like that, but at the end of the day I will be happy with an 07 or 08.

I had an air suspension issue but it was covered under warranty .. here is the link .. My recommendation find a vehicle that is covered under CPO ..

I had a similar problem with the rear latch, ended up being some sand in it, it is the one in the floor part and not the one in the hatch.
