I just got my Q7 this afternoon and started to play with it. After I turned it off for a while and started it again, I found there is no sound out of
the speaker system and I saw a mute sign(like the
one you see from windows XP toolbar) on the MMI display next to the date/time and I don't
know how to un-mute it. Cannot find it from manual
as well.
What did i do? and How to turn it off?
Thanks.

It depends on your particular car/steering wheel setup; the only consistent method is by clicking the manual volume button control on the center console of the 4L Q7, which is what this particular forum is discussing. On our '15, the right steering wheel scroll wheel (volume control) can also be clicked to mute/unmute, but on our '10 Q7, clicking the volume button on the steering wheel has a different functionality.
To recap, there may be more than one option on your car, but the main on/off button/volume controller **** on your center console will definitely unmute it. Read your owner's manual to gain required understanding of your Q7...you'll be very glad you did. I promise you will thank me later if you read it.
