Default I am frustated by ugly Navigation software - question for Tri-state members.

Hello Everyone, I would like to ask if anyone else is frustrated by software in our Navigation. I live in Brooklyn, NY and have so many problems with Navigation that it drives me crazy. Almost every destination I enter, I have issues when instead of directing me by highways (I have set route criteria as "fast", highways include, tolls include), navigation send me "short" using local street with traffic lights, stop signes etc. This weekend went to my friend house (Monroe NJ). From there we went for dinner in Red Bank - Navigation send us via RT18 (which is fine), but on the way back it took us thru local street even it was "way back" and criteria stays the same. Couple week ago driving from Paramus, NJ when I took Brooklyn Bridge from Manhattan to Brooklyn, Navigation was trying to send me again using local streets to Sheepshead Bay instead of using BQE or Prospect EXWY.
What is going on? Is there any way to fix it?

Default I only use NAV for those unknown placess

I had the same issue as you described but

I ignored the NAV suggestion -- NAV kept reminding me to have a U-turn at the beginning; but pretty soon NAV would recalculate and direct me based on the correct way I insisted.

I think NAV may not know my local streets well but it is still useful for directing me to a place.

Default Whenever I'm in Northern NJ (Iselin/Edison area), it works pretty well, but sometimes I

just end up using Google Maps on my Nokia phone to find nearby things, and then use the GPS on to to navigate there. I wish some company will come up with a google local search incorporated into their GPS system. That would be awesome
