I had them mounted this morning and they do not protect the lip of the wheel at all. In these pics you can clearly see that the side and the top of the lip is fully exposed. I replaced my old Conti's with these Yokohama Parada Spec-X tires in the same exact size: 275/45/20 and they look way too small for my stock wheels. Specs are identical measured wheel width spec at 9".

Default Conti Cross Contact UHP...

which are the OEM tyres in Germany have a lip to protect the rims. Maybe the Yokos don't have the rim protector which is becoming a new 'standard' for German tyres (and gives them a chance to push up prices)

Default Looking at their website those do not appear to be seated correctly

Are they balanced?
BTW pic currently in my sig is GY Eagle F1s 275x45x20s on the same rim looking much wider.<ul><li><a href="http://www.tirerack.com/a.jsp?a=AR4&amp;url=%2Ftires%2Ftires.jsp%3Fsidewal l%3DBlackwall%26amp%3Bsidewall%3DBlackwall%26amp%3 Bsidewall%3DBlackwall%26amp%3BtireMake%3DYokohama% 26amp%3BtireModel%3DParada%2BSpec-X">linkyness</a></li></ul

Default Yes they're balanced. How could they not be seated correctly if they're holding air..?

They're not leaking, and all four look the same. Imo they just don't fit this particular wheel. The bead is up against the inside of the rim but the bead doesn't look tall enough to fully cover the inside of the rim. Looking at the way the tire and the rim mates up I just don't feel safe having my wife and kids driving around in the car. The tire size is exactly the same, and the specs are nearly identical to the Conti 4X4 Contact's I replaced. I did as much research as I could before ordering these tires. I don't want to get the Conti's again as they only lasted a bit over 20K miles but I don't know if I have another choice at this point.

Default Randy - If the Yokos won't work, might want to check out the Goodyear Fortera SL...

whatever you do, please post results as I have the same 20" 5-spoke S-Line wheels and will be in the same boat when the Contis wear out.

Thanks,
