I had the TPMS Fault message appear along with the tractional control light come on while making a tight turn. I turned the car off and on it went away and all was good. The code came back as a intermittent horizontal acceleration sensor fault iirc. No problem since. If yours is misfiring it sounds like an issue that won't resolve itself.

Posting for the record. I had the TPMS warning and traction control lights (and probably others), and and engine MIL light. I thought there must be a wheel speed sensor error, but when I scanned for codes, the only thing that came back was P0100 MAF wiring error. This was strange, because the car drove fine - only one stumble start in several weeks (I didn’t scan for the codes for awhile because I assumed it was a wheel sensor and needed a better scanner to check for that).
When I popped the hood, sure enough the MAF connector was disconnected, and it is designed to dangle right onto the hottest part of the exhaust, so the connector was melted beyond re-usability. After a few sessions of advanced googling I found the right part for $19. It comes with 5 wires, but our cars use only 3. I soldered it on, using shrink tubing and the existing woven sheath (remember to slide on before soldering), and plugged the MAF back in. Voila! All codes and warning lights cleared (after I cleared the P0100 and reset the TPMS via the radio).
The point is that apparently the car disables the traction control when it senses this type of engine malfunction, and TPMS goes along for the ride since it is integrated with the traction control.

Here is the MAF pigtail for the B8’s 2.0: 4F0973705. I got a CITALL brand from Amazon.

Not bad, not sure you should have to do this with what should be a VERY WELL engineered car. In same situation, I would do the same. I am now having this problem, AGAIN, for the 3rd time on a Q7 2015 with less than 26k miles on it... Sits in our driveway here in Port Saint Lucie Florida. Happened at 13k miles, 18k miles and now at 26k miles. First 2 under warranty. Wife is pissed about it. Spend 50k on a car that is so unreliable and over sensitive.
She works from home and it is basically her get around town car. Yet for the 3rd time in 3 years, cannot get home from shopping at grocery store. Pretty messed up and i would think Audi should care.

My wife loves the Q8, but I wont allow an unreliable vehicle to sit in my driveway. Ironic my 7.3, and even my 2007 Mitsu Eclipse have none of this... Very reliable. I dont want to be a slave to a dealership.... They have to do better.... Once the Q8 has all its bugs worked out, then we will consider.

Right now, she has no car, no warranty, and no way to fix it. Stuart Audi here in Florida I hope you make it right....

The next morning I got up and went to work but before I was out of the driveway, service engine, TPMS, Stability Track, EPS sign were all on and the car was rumbling and upon acceleration, the vibration became worst. I toke it to the shop and he said he was getting all kinds of intermittent codes. Miss fires and the whole nine. Any ideas???
Hi I'm new to this forum, and noticed many people are having a similar TPMS Problem with their Audi Q7. I'm having the exact same issue right now! My engine light was on and then a few days later I got the Stability fault warning with TPMS and my car keep vibrating. Can you pls let me know what happened after your car went through the exact same situation I am having right now?

Hi there, I am having the same issue, 2015 Audi Q7. You might have seen my other posts about my recent transmission mishaps, https://www.audiworld.com/forums/q7-...-issue-3059348. When I just thought I had learned to cope with that issue, I got hit by this. Yesterday, I started the car, the ESC warning light and TPMS light came on. Also I couldn't shift out of Parking. I let the car run for several minutes, turned it off then restarted it. Car was running fine. The warning lights went away. I was able to drive it to my destination about 15 minutes away. I was there for about an hour. Came back and the car was fine too, not even the transmission issue I experienced in the past.

Fast forward to tonight, I started the car just to see if the warning lights would come back. It surely did. I let the engine run for 10 minutes to warm up. Turned off the car and restarted it, lights went away. I started driving hoping everything would be ok. But just about a minute later, both esc and tpms lights came on, the car started to shake. I pulled into my neighbor's drive way, shut the car off and waited for a couple of minutes before restarting it. This time, the warning lights didn't go away. The car was shaking. I drove it back. After I parked the car, I opened the hood and noticed all the fans in the engine bay were running. The engine wasn't hot at all. But somehow all the fans were working as if they needed to cool down the engine bay. That caused the car to shake. After a couple of minutes, the fans stopped. I turned off the car. Let it sit for a while. Restarted it, the two warning lights came back and this time with the engine light on too. Fans were working hard again. I also noticed the engine idle speed fluctuated up and down between 600 (normal) and 1000rpm.

I've been suspecting water issues in the control units. As it had been raining pretty much non stop for a while. I didn't find any error code while I was experiencing the transmission error. Now this time, at least I am getting the CEL. I will scan the error code after I get a scan tool from my mechanic.

Default Any update

I had the issue with intermittent starting so I changed the HPFP and, while better, still get the problem. I also get that weird TPMS/EPC/ESC light which goes away. Code said coil 2 misfired but wondering if you had an update.

Default Should the dealer have known?

Hi everyone, first time Audi owner. Purchased a q7 2015 last Friday. Everything was fine when I first checked the vehicle, however as I was about to leave the dealership, had the stabilisation fault ESC & TPMS fault. The dealer kept hold of the car to diagnose and repair, and since then their workshop manager called me and told me it needs a new ecu.
I’m no mechanic, but my question is this: should this have been picked up by the dealer before they handed the car over?
the dealer pride themselves on putting the car through a 100 point check before I came to collect, as well as a service and a fresh MOT.
just wondering if I should cut my losses at this point and cancel the sale, as if it should have been picked up, what else could they have missed?
many thanks in advance

I personally have not ever heard of any cars on this platform needing an ECU replacement so unless they're an Audi dealer/specialist I'd guess they're just throwing stuff at the wall to see what sticks. If it doesn't include a warranty for you to personally do your own shakedown I'd walk away

Thanks for your reply. I was told the technician that diagnosed the problem is a specialist, however it’s not an Audi dealer I don’t think.
when you say shakedown, do you mean take to an Audi dealer / specialist and have my own investigations under the warranty?
appreciate your reply, thanks again
