Default Just ordered a 2012 Q7

Since I've lurked around here for some time and learned quite a bit, I wanted to ask your collective opinion. After much back and forth between Q5 vs Q7, we decided on a Q7 (Silver/Black) which we ordered yesterday. We put a deposit down on the car, but never really talked price since the pricing sheets aren't in yet (apparently). Do I still have much negotiating power when the car does come and/or the pricing list is available? We ordered the car since there was nothing available in inventory that matched what we wanted. Am I looking at paying MSRP for this vehicle? The dealership guy stated that these were going close to MSRP. I figured I will already get $1500 off for the Audi loyalty discount, but does anyone have any advice on experience they'd like to share with regards to ordering a car and negotiating price?

Thanks

I ordered a 2012 Q7 two weeks ago, and the standard deal was midpoint between MSRP and dealer invoice, but no less than $1500 over invoice.

unfortunately doesnt seem to be much wiggle room on the 2012s since there is such demand and lil production. same with b8 s4, 1500 over invoice seems to be the norm.

keep in mind that just because you put a deposit down does not mean you have to accept whatever terms the dealer eventually comes back with

i put down a deposit when the dealer promised a great deal, found that the price wasnt as low as i wanted, and got my deposit back while i shopped at another dealer

the deposit should come at the end of your shopping, but if you arent sure you can still keep looking

Was that including an Audi loyalty discount? I'm waiting to hear back from the dealership where I ordered to see where they are willing to start negotiating from. Does it make more sense to start that process now rather than later? Also, for those of you that ordered recently, any talk regarding compensation for the backup camera issue?

thx

if you order with the camera now it will be retrofitted for free. as per the information released by aoa to the dealers.

This will be my first Audi, so I'm not sure what a loyalty discount is.

Has anyone used Amex Zag or Costco to negotiate a 2012 Q7 order? The price listed via Amex Zag is $1000 over invoice?! Somehow, I think that price is not likely...maybe I'm wrong?

Amex Zag and whether or not your dealer "honors" their pricing seems regional. In the PacNW not really applicable but on the east coast it seems that buyers were able to get better pricing right around the time I ordered my 2011.

Where are you located?
