Twice recently my wife has gotten in the Q and she could not get it to recognize the key was in the car and she had to use the key to actually start it. Has anyone else ever had that problem or have a suggestion? She has gotten out of the car and gone back in the house and tried again and it still won't recognize it.

like this would be covered under warranty. If it is a battery problem, and you ask them to change the battery out, they will charge you big money for it.

the voltage of key should be more than 3.2v.
My old key batteries are 2.8v and 2.6v. after batteries changed, it goes back to normal.

the rear passenger door will not let you arm the alarm by pressing the buttom so I ran the VAG-COM on it and sure enough a fault code came up. The antenna in that door is now bad. Going in for the 15K service in a few weeks and will get it fixed then.

Were you surprised by them being dead?
I am just curious to know the approximate life span of advanced/Remote Key batteries though I suppose it varies by the amount of entries/mileage as much as time.
