Default Lease turn in experience - tires

I am getting ready to turn in my 08 Q7 Premium +. The vehicle is on it's second set of tires and already need replacing. The car has 35K on it. First set replaced at 24K, 12K on current set. Vehicle was alligned at time of tire replacement.

I am going to get hit with the cost of replacing 4 tires at lease end? I know this vehicle has a history of tire wear problems as well as alignemnt issues.

If you replaced the first set at 24K and the new ones only have 12K, you should be ok. There is a depth measurement they will use to say if they are in spec or not.

What tires you using? I have 20k on a set of Toyo tires and they look like they can go another 20.

I have a set of pirelli scorpions on now. The problem is that they are already at the tread marker after 15k miles.

Thanks

Well, this is not well known, but even a lease return can be negotiated if you are buying/leasing a new Audi. You can also talk to the service department and ask them. Can you see Lincoln's head on a penny? Are you getting another Audi?

Past Abraham's head. There are 4 options on the table. It is my wife's primary car and she loves it.

1. Purchase at end of Lease - Buyout is 30k. Dealer is selling 07 Q7s with 50k on them for that.

2. Lease an 2011 Q7

3. Lease a Q5

4. Remote Possibility - BMW X5 35d

I figure if I do lease another Audi there is some negotiating that can be done. Current Q has 35k and is in show room condition.

My wife is a clean freak. She keeps McGuire's wipes in the arm rest and cleans the interior at red lights.

I wish my wife was like that. I'm constantly cleaning the truck when I get a chance to drive it

We were in the same boat in March. You will be shocked how expensive the 2011 Q7 Lease rate is compared to your 08. We ended up buying the car because of the price differential. This has been my wife's favorite SUV by far and nothing we looked at as a possible replacement touches it. Ours was also $30K buy out and you can't touch a used 07/08 Q7 with decent options for less than high 30's. It sounds like your best bet is to buy the car out. Especially if it has been reliable.

The car has been reliable with the exception of tire wear.

My buyout is 30k, similiar equiped 08's CPOd in the area are selling for ~40-42k.

Does anyone know if it is possible to pay the buyout rate and then pay whatever the cost is of the CPO program?

The sleazy audi dealer that I originaly purchased it from said I would have to turn it in to audi, pay for whatever repairs are needed to get it certified, then buy it back from them.

As a comparision we test drove a Q5 premium plus with NAV - offered me a 36/mo lease with no drive away cost of 768/MO. This seemeded at least 100/mo to expensive. Gave a 1000 off msrp. wouldn't even discuss invoice as this is the only 2.0 Q5 he will have until January.

BMW is offering me a X5d, Premium, Tech, Cold Weather of 670/mo. 1,200 drive away.

The X5 give us 25mpg of a mixed highway - backroad test drive of about 12 miles.
