Lost all Sound

Today I rewound a song on a CD after that I lost all sound. The sound menu has gone and the speaker icon shows a muted speaker title of the media page says mp3 paused ANY IDEAS

Did you press the volume button to put the sound system on mute?

have you tried an mmi reset as per the handbook?

Tried a reset the volume in not muted. The most significant snag is the whole sound menu is missing.
