Low Oil Pressure Warning
I got the red low oil pressure warning today in my Q7.. I figured I would start with the oil pressure switch, which I removed. Was covered in oil, also the side where the electrical connector goes was full of oil. I am hoping this is a sign of a faulty switch? I would like to test the pressure manually while I have the switch off, is this an acceptable place connect an oil pressure guage? I am guessing yes, just want to verify. Thanks, Joe

I agree with you...
...on my old 356 b convert I used to check the oil pressure at the pressure sensor when I wanted to know actual values. If yours was oily and leaking I would bet that was the culprit!

Oil pressure warning might mean one of five things:
Bad oil pressure sensor/switch, low oil level, clogged oil filter, clogged oil passages in the engine or engine wear.
