Default Low oil warning

We are in the hot and humid part of the summer here in MD. A couple of times over the last few weekends I have launched my boat in the morning and when I start the Q7 up 6 or 7 hours later I get a low oil pressure warning. The Q has been sitting in the sun for the day. IF you wait a few minutes, the warning goes away. Anyone ever have this happen?

Default Do you have the 3.6l engine?

If so I would hasten to the dealer. There are issues with oil pressure and you could be affected(there is a TSB for this). It can end up trashing the motor if not taken care of.

Default Your car is Aug 07... Later than all the CEL dry start issues.

Unless it was earlier production! Also your mileage at 24k is much higher than the others with that issue.
Is it possible that you leave your car parked at some unusual slope or angle for this period causing the oil to settle away from the pick-up? If so have you tried parking in the opposite direction?
Perhaps it is a combination of both.
Like chickdr suggests bring it in and have them check for the Oil Filter Housing TSB (actually its just the pressure valve within but they replace the whole bit if its that issue). You are the first in a long while to raise this.
Please report back on your findings.

Default Re: Low oil warning

Funny, I had this happen to me too this past week in my 4.2. I ended up being out of town and just dropping another quart of Mobil 1 in.

With an oil change just completed a few months ago, and only 2K on the odometer, I was surprised to see this - never had this issue on the allroad.

I wonder if the dealer decided to not drop the required 9 quarts in to save a few bucks. Suspicious minds...

Default The Q has been in the shop since tuesday. They are ordering parts.

My wife has been driving a Mazda 5 loaner since they ran out of Audis. It is a bare boned model.
