FWIW, my 2006 Cadillac STS has ventilated seats. I bought it new 3 1/2 years ago, and the seats still look like new. Care and maintenance no different than regular leather seats. And like stated earlier, the fans pull air in.
It's because of this that I decided the replacement for my CX-9 would have ventilated seats, as I really like them in my STS. One of the reasons I bought an '11 Q7.
