Default Need replacement tires

Hello Everyone. I would like to open a poll to see what is the general consensus on when Q7 owners had to replace their tires or had a tires with less than 1/8 of the thread (which consitutes as needed replacement). The issue is that I have a 21K on my car and found that all my tires has less than 1/8" of the thread. I do not think it is normal and do not think that
owners have to agree to such issue - I strongly believe that this is an AUDI issue of choosing a bad type of tires for their vehicle.

A bad type of tire??? Audi use lots of different types of tyre depending on where you are. They have even used different tyres on the same models in the same areas in different years. We have run our cars with quite a variety of different pressures over the years. Face it these cars are hard on tyres. Great road holding, powerful brakes and traction have their price. If you find a tyre that lasts twice as long then you will have half the grip. Anyway as far as I can see there is precious little to pick between them these days. Your own driving style will make a bigger difference than anything.
Our complaints have varied from road noise to comfort from wet grip to all season or snow and ice suitability.
I have driven Q7s (sames spec) back to back on 4 different tires, while I could describe a difference I couldnt pick an overall winner for any good reason.
18 to 25k miles is about average accross the board. Just look at the locations and models.

Sure we have had a few heros with much bigger mileage but careful driving and lots of steady motorways with smooth conditions are not the norm.
Also true several people only got 7 or 8k out of a set but I think Audi generally found tracking or suspension errors and reports of warranty replacement were filed accordingly.

Good luck with your survey. I added my change at 21k on 20" but I think your problem will be we are all at such different mileage now you will not get a good enough response in one month.
My reading of the stats say most of us are on 20" and 20-25k bracket.

BTW I am referring to k as thousand miles in editorial but k or m as thousand kilometers or miles in stats as reported by owners. Hope it makes sense.

NY Metro - 2 sets of Conti 4x4 Contacts in less than 40k miles. Soft tire. Performs well, but low treadwear rating (300 if I recall). Does not even come with a mfr's warranty - they know it is soft. But soft tires = grip. My fault for not selecting a longer treadwear rated tire the first time I replaced them. Same issues with brakes.

Jusforfun! I know that Audi put different tires on even the same Q7 in different regions, but I still wanted to see how offen this can happen that in 20K miles, the tires are out of thread. I always drive around 20K miles in 3 years and had a BMW X5, Lexus GX (plus my friends drive different SUV), but I never heard of a car in needs of new tires in 20K.
I personally have Goodyear Eagle LS2 20". The worst tires I ever had on my car - very noisy, no traction in wet etc. Just look at the survey and reviews on these tires in www.TireRack.com - just could not imagine that Audi would choose the tires so purely for up-class vehicle.
