Hello all!
First post here. I ordered a 2011 TFSI S-Line Prestige for my wife a couple of weeks ago, and just heard from the dealer it should be here in mid-May. Choosing the engine was a tough choice - went back and forth between the TDI and the gasoline many times, but ultimately (with my wife's help) decided on the gasoline - primarily due to relative scarcity of diesel in our immediate vicinity, and dirty pumps.
Anyway, with the 2012 model year just around the corner, I'm wondering if Audi may in fact introduce a more powerful engine - either diesel or gasoline for 2012. That would suck - I'd love more power. Did a quick search, but didn't come across any unconfirmed or confirmed reports. Thoughts?
Thanks!

the V-6s in the 2011 are new...this is the launch year for those engines
as for more power i think its already on the high end. its moving 5200lbs zero-sixty in 6.7-6.9 secs (depending on source)...thats pretty good for that weight class

Thanks for the quick reply.
I'm chomping at the bit for the 4.2 TDI. Also, I noticed that some 3.0 TDIs in Europe have 240hp vs. 225 stateside. Wondering if those will be brought over, for example.

the 225 PS version in the states is the clean version which sacrafices power for the environment!!( waste of time if you ask me)
the 4.2 TDI is the way to go, unless you want the v12 but at £100,000 will not be on too many driveways.
diesels are the only realistic option in the UK now, even though diesel prices are higher, consumption is better and you get the same if not more power from the diesel and loads more torque.
i have just got a chipexpress tuning box on my 3.0tdi which now has the same power output as the 3.6 petrol (280PS) and loads more torque at 550nm plus better fuel consumption - its a no brainer really.

Any further news on this for the UK/Europe markets?
Only thing I've heard and read is a more frugal and lower emission TDI engine for mid/late 2011.
Will post the link if I can locate it.

Latest developments are indicating that the 2012 Audi S8 will get more than 500 hp from a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8.
This engine comes from Bentley and might give the S8 a fighting chance against the S63 AMG.
Audi is expecting to bring the 2012 S8 on the United States market sometime next year. We'll have more details on the 2012 Audi S8 as soon as they're available.
