Sometimes you can reuse it. I decided to just fool the system.

How did you fool the system?
Also I was looking to replace the brakes on my 05 A8. I know these pads offer great performance as you said, but how harsh are they on the rotors. So Far I'm still using stock OEM audi pads, but the rear's are almost done with and I was looking for a replacement. I don't race much I just want a good performing pad with low brake dust. I just don't want to toast my rotors or make them wear out any faster than needed.

Any insight? Thanks!

they are rotor-friendly. no need to worry since these are for street use and not the track version. to fool the system, you just need to connect both ends of the sensors together. you can use butt connectors + shrink wrap/electric tape. when you do this, make sure you keep track of your pads and know when they will need to be changed.

here is a link to the simple process.

I think I'm sold on the redstuff pads. Their only $80 something. When I took it to the dealer they said only the pads are low, they didn't say anything about the rotors, and the rotors look good and have no rust from a visaul inspection. So my choice is either just replace the pads or get a kit from blauparts.com for a pad/rotor combo for $176. By far the cheapest for pads with rotors. As rotors off ecstuning are at least $200 for a pair just for the rotors.

just be careful with rotors. cheap is good but sometimes they can warp easily. make sure they are made by a quality manufacturer. i've heard enough horror stories from people that had rotors warp on them within just a few miles of use. just remember that the Q7 is a heavy vehicle. it will produce lots of heat when stopping. i've picked up parts from germanautoparts.com and have been pretty happy.

I have an A8 though.
I found these,

Depending on how my rotors are though I will just buy redstuff brake pads. What you guys think?
