Hi all,
I need some help my Q7 2007 on start up it would labour for the first turn of the key and sounding like a flat battery but on the second turn of the key it would turn over and fire up like the battery had all the life in the world. I sent my car an MOT and service but it failed the mot and I was informed the car won't start, bur I never had an issue with the car. Now I have been told there is power and no crank at all, not even a sound
I was sceptical about letting someone else take my car as I feel that people think as we drive a big car we are cash cows and start making things wrong with the and all.my dreams have come ture. Now I'm stuck as I need answers as the garage says it might be the starter motor? But I don't want a guessing game I want answers as the car was fine when it was taken from my house, now i have no car.and.plenty of problems.
Can anyone help

If the start makes no sound at all like it was not even energized, then it may be a key authorization problem. A code scan in the Key Auth module might show something. Sometimes the key might even get stuck in the ignition. (or do you have keyless entry?)

Hi Steelcoil,
Thanks for your help, I have been to the garage the car is at and the gains you entry in to the car and everything seems fine when you put the key in. The blowers come on but when you turn the key, we do not any response at all no clicks, no sound. I have a spare key, so I might go and give that to the garage just to try to eliminate that problem, but I. Thinking from reading up on other people's problems that it might be the solenoid.

I think there are one or two 30 amp relays in the bulkhead area. The workshop can check those relays, first to make sure the coils are energized (that means the computer is trying to run the starter), and then to check that there is voltage reading at the starter.
