Default No more seat belt warnings (no lectures please...)

So, after getting the idea from another forum, I decided to try seat belt extenders. After doing some online research, I found ones that would work (13/16" wide; gap 1/4" from tip) on ebay for around $15 US. It was obvious from the photo that they were made by Ford. So, I called the local Ford dealership and ordered a set. I made it perfectly clear both on the day I ordered them and on the day I picked them up that I do not drive a Ford and intended to use them for another vehicle. That is only interesting because...

When I picked them up they were FREE! I assume that it is to prevent discrimination against those who might need them to abide by the law. Nonetheless, there was no charge. There was a Ford label attached that came off with little effort. And they work like a charm.

Ford Genuine Parts #: F7ZZ-63611C22-AAA (for each one)

Good luck!

Default I'll skip the obvious rant about how seatbelts save lives, but why not..

just turn off the chimes using a VAG-COM instead?

Default 2nd.. that's what I did

but not so I didn't have to wear my seat belt but rather so that when I went to the bank teller drive through, fast food drive through, or any place I needed to take off my seatbelt to reach my wallet or reach out the window I didn't have to hear the chime. It's also handy when you are sitting in your car eating lunch and want the a/c running.

In the case of not using a seat belt and accidents, it's more like "live free AND die"

Default For what it's worth...

I almost always wear my seat belt. But, Audi shouldn't activate the chimes when the car is in park. That's just dumb. Sitting in the car waiting for either the driver or a passenger to run into a store, no one needs a safety reminder.

I chose this over alteration via VAG-COM b/c of the ease of removal.

Default Call it a quirk - rarely does the seatbelt chime in mine unless the car

is moving. I actually wear mine all the time anyhow, but I'm always putting it on while driving - and both my sister and my brother (Audi owners also)have noticed it too, the majority of the time it doesn't start unless the car is in motion. Whatever the reason, I like this particular "quirk".
