Tow mode and Jacking mode are my MMI options.
Very similar. Tow mode will not allow suspension to lower at speed. I assume it will shift brake balance back, perhaps load sensors will do that anyway. It felt a bit swoopy when I drove off, as if I had a heavy trailer attached. That was what made me think of the tow mode.
I also thought the anti sway programme might stay active helping control braking on bends.
Stone is unusual in that the weight can be concentrated very far back and quite high, slabs of 33"x22" piled up to window level. Its not what I got my Q7 for but sometimes it gets called up for real truck duties.
When I left delivery to come home the car was obviously behaving rough and jerky like it was trying to cope with something that was not there. You wouldnt forget you left it on!
I bet you could programme tow mode into MMI via VCDS.
I have also used it when launching and retrieving the rib without trailer board to keep the sensors off otherwise you have to keep resetting them at each stop start.
