[QUOTE=chickdr;23955228]Sorry for not checking this thread more frequently. Funny how I got no responses when I asked for them but after I made my decision they came flooding in...

My first post listed everything. $1490 for the CPO and $350 for the CPO inspection.

It sure does, sorry I missed that. Spoke with dealership where I leased from. They have changed ownership and the sales manager knows nothing about ability to negotiate buyback at lease end. Went to another dealership and they vaguely told me they could offer me the vehicle with CPO Warranty for approximately $800 more than buyback thru Audi. Claim no special financing right now. May call a few more dealers just to see what other options are out there.

Relooked at paperwork, it wasnt $800 more it was $2490 more. Pretty pathetic. Called AFS and they have a 7 year extended "bumper to bumper" warranty which is about $2k. Anyone have any experience on the warranty AFS offers? I am really undecided as it is run by a 3rd party thru Audi. They are sending me the paperwork to look at. I believe it is run by a company called j.d.m.s. or vss or something like that. I have never considered a 3rd party warranty before but if Audi is selling it and it is supposedly covered by Audi I will seriously think about it. I dont think I will visit another dealer to see what they can offer. I really have no energy for it.

You don't need to visit the dealer physically, just contact them via e-mail.

chickdr,
thanks, will send a few emails out and see what kind of hits i get. when i was looking for an fx36 it is how i was able to get some really decent quotes. it was extremely hassle free and quick.

quartz,
i reread your earlier msg re: extended warranty etc. according to the 4 diff reps i have spoken with in the last 5 months at AFS, their prices are not negotiable at all. the residual on your contract is what the vehicle costs. the extended warranty they offer (not CPO) is fixed they say also. i have the figures written down if anyone is intereted. they asked about mileage so i am not sure if the prices go by mileage or not. I am leaning towards the extended thru AFS as it goes up to an additional 7 years. plan on keeping the Q for awhile.
