I lent my brand new 2 weeks old 3.6P S-Line with 21" wheels to a friend and unfortunately looks like she hit the curb or something and now BOTH left wheels/tires are damaged pretty bad.
The wheels is scrapped pretty badly, with part of the alloy gone. The tires are the same, with part of the rubber gone/flaking off.
I'd post some pictures but dunno how...
Anyways, its horrible and I have a feeling it will be $$$$$ to fix it or replace it. Does anyone know any wheel repair guys in SoCal (O.C. preferred) that can repair/refinish both of these 21" wheels?
As for tires, these are the Dunlop Sports Maxx and I think are close to $400 per tire easily...
I'm in panic mode now...any suggestion how to handle this in the most cost effective way?

The low profile allows the rims easy access to the curb or other objects unlike high profile which has a lot of rubber.. Its the price you pay for bling bling wheels!

I don't know of any place in so cal, but judging from the aftermarket down there, must be a ton.
I've had a couple of wheels refinished from being curbed and it's pretty hard to tell the difference. Not too expensive either, usually $100-$150 a wheel depending on extent of the damage.
Can't repair tires though, that's the part that sucks.
I'm just waiting for the wife to curb the 20's. I know it's coming.

We live in SoCal and have 4.2 S-Line with 21s. The Q7 is my wife's car, she is almost as nuts about cars as I am (we waited 3 months so she could get the 21s, at her request). The dealer actually gave both left rims curb rash while the Q7 was in for the 5k mile service. Unlike those that are so understanding in this thread, I bought a sick looking car, with flawless fit and finish and want it to stay that way. At first they denied responsibility but they eventually came around. The car is actually being fixed right now at their expense. I did get an estimate prior to giving it back to them. Velvet Touch is based in San Diego and repaired my e46 M3 wheel damaged by valet (since sold) and now the Q7. They do incredible work for a very fair price (I believe $150-250 per wheel depending on damage).
I hope this helps.<ul><li><a href="http://denttime.com/wheel_repair.htm">http://denttime.com/wheel_repair.htm</a</li></ul>
