Paint protection film?
I just got my 2010 TDI tonight...great looking car and will post pics soon. What are your thoughts on protection films? I found a brand that seems good...xpel (http://www.xpel.com/) and they have 2010 Q7 with s-line available. The cost is $210 for hood, fender, mirror and $410 front bumper. Dunno what installation costs?

I had my whole front end, lights, hood, rear bumper, and mirrors done for $600 installed. It is ventureshield brand and guaranteed for life not to yellow like 3ms will. What color did you buy? Mine is Phantom Black. Black is tough to install on because any air bubbles or stretches in the film show up.

I went with ventureshield b/c the local installer (trained on both brands) said that the ventureshield is a better product. They have done cars far more expensive than my Q7. Maybe he makes more on them...;-). I got the full hood kit with rear bumper which costs $750 installed.
I am also thinking about getting custom shield for the doors. Waiting for the quote. Opinions on whether its worth it? Or do you think that it will not protect against other car door dings and scratches. This is my first time with any of these clear shields than than what is on my iPhone.

Ventureshield is superior to 3M Clear Bra. It was originally developed for military helicopter rotor blades to protect them from sand in the desert. Obviously they found other applications for the material. I would look for a installed in your area, maybe try checking out Yelp.com.
Originally, I had a hard time shelling out another chunk of money on the SUV, but after I had it installed, I felt it was worth every penny. And now a year later, I equally feel the same.
Good luck.
