Happy New Year community! I need your opinion please, since 4 days ago my car makes a weird noise when I try to start it. I went to the dealership and they told me I need to replace the Startes for about $1650. Today I used a jumper to be sure about low battery, but anyways it didn't work. If you aren't a DIYer, go find a local indie garage with German car experience, as it will cost you much less. Personally, I wouldn't allow the Audi dealer to touch my cars unless they are under warranty. You might want to consider looking up the part also, just to see what you could source it for since the Audi dealer is always the highest price for parts, and charges you approx $200/hr labor rate, which is most of that repair estimate they quoted you. If they gave you a written quote, it should have the part# on it, but you can easily look it up online.
