Q7 2008 Liftgate Will Not Close
I have a 2008 Q7 3.6Prem. When I try to close the liftgate using the button on the liftgate it does not close. If I stop the liftgate as it is opening, I can press the button in the liftgate and the liftgate will open completely. Therefore, it appears as if the button is working. It just doesn't want to work when I am trying to close it. I have to manually close the liftgate. I have also tried holding the button to try to set the height but that doesn't appear to work either. If I recall there is supposed to be a confirmation sound like a beep but nothing. Any ideas on what might be wrong? Thanks.

If you press the outwr button to raise when its closed and let it go say only half way and stop it, what happens when you press the close button located on the inner trim the boot lid? It should close back down, if it doesn’t there is a high chance that with many other q7’s with age that one of the 2 electric tailgate motors is failing, the lid use about 50% rear gas struts and 50% electric motors to raise. When closing it has to use 100% electric motors so if their in bad shape you will have a hetic time with the closing. I have had the same problems with mine and replaced both motors with 2 second hand units and it was all fixed. See how you go?
