Is it easy to ask dealer to loan a Q7 to do an extended test drive? I think I might want to try to see how the Q really works as a daily driver. Has anyone done it?

Most likely in ski country (Colorado, Utah, etc).
It doesn't hurt to ask your dealer, especially if you already have an established relationship with them (and they have Q7 loaners available).
For me, the Q works quite well as a daily driver. I have to shuttle my kids (and their friends!) to school and to the gym, and that's where 3 rows of seats come in handy.
Its well-appointed interior makes a nice environment for commuting, and I think the controls are laid-out well for driving. The air suspension and manu-matic (w/paddles on my S-line) allow some tailoring for the situation at hand:
by myself: manual-mode/sport shift pattern with dynamic (low/stiff) suspension setting
with kids: see above![Big Grin](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
with kids+baby+wife: full auto with comfort suspension setting
The one thing is that the Q can suck down gasoline if you let it...and I do! But, that's what makes it fun, too -- lots o' power in that 4.2.
Good luck!
