Took the fuse out, and it made no difference. Dealer will be looking at it on Tuesday. Great feature whilst it worked.
Anyone else with this?

It was replaced at dealer without incident and we've been problem free since (~3 months). Your dealer will likely have to order the part, so plan on making 2 trips. For us, the part only took ~2 days to arrive and our dealer provided me with a free loaner both times - an A4 and a Merc C-class.

so they have to take it off to access the CPU. Once they put everything back together, they will also recalibrate the Side Assist system. In my case, the CPU simply failed. I had scanned the car with my VAG-COM and came up with this error code:

but time consuming. A lot of parts have to come off to get to the SA modules, but they're mostly all body pieces. My dealer really did a great job with it, though, the recalibration of the SA when the bumper is removed is one reason why I'll probably never install a hitch on my Q.

Did they do the calibration right? Do all the dealers have the equipment to do it? As only the Q7 has the feature and is relativly new. Worried they may not bother.

than my driving habits, but that's really more of a problem with my driving style ;-) In all honesty, I hadn't driven the car enough before it failed to be able to tell you if the behavior changed from before. It works, and works well (except during a heavy snow storm where snow piles up on the bumper), so I can't complain.

My SA failed during a big sleet storm about 2 weeks ago and I thought that might have had something to do with it. I've been trying to figure out if it could be reset somehow. I was about to post a message asking for advice. Oh well...
Bummer, off to the dealer this week...

cause it to disable itself temporarily. if you push button adjacent to the memory seat buttons to reactivate it but still get the "Side Assist System Fault" in the DIS, you probably have the same problem that we do.
