Can anyone tell me what size bit or tool is needed to remove the caliper bolts on a 2011 Q7?
Thanks in advance.

This is not true. I have a b8 A4 3.2L. And did all brakes and rotors. The front all u need is I believe a 21mm socket to take the from caliper off. And a big breaker bar or ratchet. And a C clamp works just fine to collapse the piston. As for the rear. You don’t need Vagcom to collapse the rear piston. I watched a YouTube video. You can take the hosing off the caliper with a torx socket and when you remove it there is a torx inside the housing turn it I believe counter clockwise all the way and then you can collapse the rear caliper with the C clamp. And then reinstall everything. Make sure you pump your brakes prior to anything to get everything tight again.

Its a Triple Square, M16/16mm IIRC.. it was the 2nd largest one in this kit:
Its a total bitch bolt to get out too, be prepared to hulk the crap outta a breaker bar to get it off.
This is a Q7 forum, its different than an A4 significantly.. rear calipers can be collapsed just by squeezing on em w/the old pads.. you dont need any tools to retract em unless you got weak girly hands.
