Default q7 sline - going from 21" to 20", spacer question

Currently have 21" sline wheels on the 2010 sline q7. While they look great the tires wear out in 10-13k miles and the tires cost $400-500 each.

So looking to downgrade to 20" (ride quality should improve a bit too).

found these guys:
http://www.oemwheelsplus.com/audi/20...heels-set.html

Should i get spacers (especially since sline has slightly wider fenders)? if so any recommendations on what width spacers?

i assume 275/45-20 size tires is appropriate as well.

Thanks.

I am not sure that at those prices they wheels are gong to be strong enough. Outside of Hartmann I do not know any brands that do not bend.
I would also ask what the tires were that you had on your car. If they were performance tires then it is no wonder they lasted such a short time. If you look at all-season tires you will find that the tread wear will be much longer and they will be quieter.

All i could find for 21" tires all that are available are ZR rated summer tires. (yes i know, no wonder they wear fast)

I did find Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snow tires (as far as i can see the only winter tires avail for 21" wheels) but I live in Southern California, how do winter tires perform in hot summer and hot roads?

I did some searching and you are right. I did find on TR website that some tires seemed to have better life per the reviews i.e.
CrossContact UHP

You might want to email Gary at Tire Rack (see the wheel and tire forum) to see if he has any recommendations. The Pirelli Scorpions would not last long in the summer and would be kind of squirrly in the heat.

If you do go with 20" rims I would understand but select a real Audi rim or the Hartmann or BBS. Something that will not bend.

The offset on OE rims for Q7 is 60. As both are 9" your chosen rim at 55mm offset will ride 5mm further out.
You could easily add 10 - 15mm spacer.
Guys have reported using 18 to 23mm on OE rears (coming from 21")
Fronts generally go less IE 14 or 15mm so I say 10 should be fine on that rim.
Ask your supplier. OE offset is 44mm on 21"

275x45x20 is correct tire for 9J rim.
