Q7 Suspension problems....

My 2008 Q7 has developed a fault with the suspension.
I suspect it is the rear level sensors - I have the following codes -

I have tested the compressor today and it seems perfect - it run smoothly and is quiet.
The rear stays very high regardless of what setting the system is set to and after a short drive I get the amber flashing light on the dash.
If it is one of the rear sensors, would it not throw a fault code?

I have now checked both rear level sensors and they seem perfect - there is virtually no play in the actuation lever and it moves smoothly on both sensors.
I am now thinking it must be the valve assembly.
Am I right in thinking that because the compressor does not run continuously and there seems to be no drop in the cars attitude overnight, that there are not any leaks?
Is the valve assembly, the block with the air lines attached to it mounted on the compressor assembly frame?

I know mine stopped once because the temperature sensor decided it was getting too hot (upper limit exceeded). I have never had any function problems and error code cleared itself.
As I didn't check the codes myself (by coincidence I was calling to an indy Audi auto electrician on a completely different matter) so I never followed up on it. He said its quite common for them to shut off for overheating just as they reach full pressure and not to worry about it. That was 3 years ago.
I don't know if yours is a similar issue but possibly worth considering.

I think the compressor is OK - it ran for about 10 seconds this morning after a cold start from yesterday afternoon.
The thing I really need is to be able to get into the level control advanced settings - I am getting this message - Controller refused the key - error 22: Conditions not correct or controller sequence error.
As far as I can tell, I have followed the instructions - engine running, in park and doors closed.

I have been too busy to post but I now have found that if I leave it in Auto, the warning light does not come on at all.
I am not thinking it is either a leak or the valve body?

Level sensors almost invariably are where the fault lies.
You will need VAG-COM to identify which one by looking at what it is sending as a height when you try to carry out the adaption process.

Other than the same codes as in your original post, I also get "01398 - Signal Conductor for Central Locking; Doors Open" listed under Level Control module. Just wondering why this is listed under the level control module, and whether this is linked to the suspension issue.

Yes, you have to carry out the adaption process through the drivers' open window while standing outside the vehicle so it must have a safety lockout when any door is signalled as open.
