A month ago, I asked a local Audi dealer: if there are no cars to be ordered/sold mid year, how does Audi expect its sales organization to strive? The dealership owner replied that he does not get this bull$hit, and the Germans simply ignore U.S. feedback. I though this response was remarkable.

My Q7 TDI was ordered on March 2. It was released for production on 3/25. Tentative schedule to load on the ship is 4/29. Delivery ETA is week of 5/24.

I was talking to the dealer where I ordered mine - about the lack of stock of new Audi vehicles in general. I basically asked them how they keep their doors open, and they said (not surprisingly) it's not the sales of new vehicles where they make their money, but through the service department...

So funny to hear people waiting for their Q7. When we bought in December of 2008 and gas was at $4/gallon, the dealers had a dozen or more on the lot and were desperate to make a deal. Granted, the TDI was not yet available, but it was still a great time to buy.
