Hey DUTCH, what about the cylinder above what you pointed out, does that need to be changed as well?

Why the difference?.
It appears that you have the large canister filter as I did on my 2010 Q7 3.0 TDI. Changing the cartridge can be a very messy job. Been there and done that.

That one does not get change, because it is are secondary fuel pump. 2010 TDI CATA engines US made.
that one has about 6 bar fuel pressure.
if it goes bad it will throw a code for V393 in op.

Awesome, very much appreciated! I'll give it a shot and change out the filter in the round canister with all the wires going into it this weekend.

You guys know of any DYI instructions on the web anywhere?

Attach is the manual spec. and also the TQ spec. I recommend to used the Ross Tech VCDS to bleed your fuel system. Some people have done it with out it, but i do not recommend it cause you can cause a very bad vapor lock on you TDI.

Hope this helps

This is GREAT! Thank you so much. I'll use the VCDS to bleed the system as I read that this is the proper way to change the filter. Thank you for the help!

Hey guys,

Sorry for reactivating an old thread. Does anyone know what the silver canister in the red box is?

Arrow points to a diesel filter but what is the silver canister in the red box.. it does not have any marking on it.
