Q7 vs Lexus 450 H
Prior to purchasing the Q7 TDI for my wife, we looked at the Lexus. Ultimately bought the Q7. I have a Lexus 430 SC and took it in for service today. They gave me the Hybrid to drive as a loaner. Interesting impressions.
Pro - Quiet, comfortable, powerfull, economical, suprising amount of room, air cooled seats.
Con - Ugly, not enough room, strange driving a hybrid, no auto door unlocks on touch.
All in all, the car did not touch the emotions. The reasons for buying the Q still stand.

We had a 2006 400h, which we traded in yesterday for a 2010 Q7 TDI. Night and day. The 400h handled so poorly and was so un-engaging. Plus it has the turning radius of semi. Our Q7 with Adaptive Air Suspension in Dynamic mode reminds me of driving my old allroad: very car-like. Even my wife noticed the improved handling. Although it is bigger than the 400h, it drives smaller. Plus the interior + technology are so great.
The other thing is that the mileage in our 400h was in gradual decline. It started at 28mpg and was at 24mpg by the time we traded it in. I was worried that the batteries were slowly wearing out.
So yes, get the Q7!

Lexus and Acura engineer the soul our of their cars, plain and simple. (Although Acura is better at differentiating from Honda, than Lexus is from Toyota, IMHO.)
