Default Q7 - wipers won't turn on

I have a 08 Q7 with 70k kms on it. Have had it for just over 3 years with no problems. I went to turn on the wipers today and they started to move.. For only about 2 inches and then stopped. Then they started to shimmer but didn't move anywhere. I turned the truck off and then back on but nothing changed. We are heading out on a 4000 km road trip next week so need to find a fix soon...HELP!

Heres what someone on another forum says to do wen tht happens :
"Find the fuse and pull it out - then replace it. Should be in the fuse box on the right driver's side and could just be a glitch.

However, it has been known for either (a) the mechanism to become sticky which causes the motor to overheat and cut out - in which case get it addressed quickly or (b) the motor to outright fail. The latter is an expensive exercise as the part, fitting and required coding all take a fair bit of time.

When mine went, the wipers did a brief impression of Michael Flatley's feet before parking permanently in the middle of the screen - very dramatic. Fortunately I was only spraying the window to remove flies; could have been deeply unfunny had it been properly raining."
