This problem only affected early production MY07. It has been sorted for so long that dealers dont even know about it. You are the proof of that! They updated the actual sunroof with reinforced corners, the drain pipe, the attachment system and seal. Dont let it put you off the Q7 all later MYs have been perfect. I have recorded only 19 cases in over 770 Q7s here on AW, 316 of them are MY07.
If you are searching or download the spreadsheet you may come accross later records but these were all CPO cars where the previous owner kept the car garaged so the issue only surfaced late.
Here is a little read to keep you going Link
Dont ya just love the internet.

My insurance is going to cover water damage- changing carpets and some electronic defects under the seats.

But, the dealer gave up on finding the cause.

What do you think of taking my car to different Audi dealership? What are the chances of other dealership finding cause if this dealership did not.

Thanks

Why not, go to a different dealer, it dont hurts.

Make sure they are checking the sunroof frame, it could be cracked or complete broken. There was also an issue with at the early 07. But I dont know when they fixed it.

I (you know already my thread) did it on the old fashon way.
I removed the headliner, used lots of water, filled up the "closed" drains and looked where the water comes from.
After this, it was clear what it was.

The question if a different dealer would/could find the cause of your problem, nobody knows.
I will say it in this way, if we would talk about my "former" dealer, it woudl say "yes - definitely", because this dealer is total *bieeeeep*...... I sorry for that.

hopefully you will find the problem soon.

In case you didnt see my other reply. Yes Rad2 is on a mission to see if this can be escalated as he feels Audi have not done enough to resolve the issue.
We all know it only affects MY 2007 and even then only up to a certain VIN but it is still recurring or manifesting itself in recently traded cars.
Not all remedial work has been fully covered and several if not many customers are out of pocket to some extent over this.

Please be patient while Rad2 uses the forum for his research.

Hello. I've read about the trouble you've been having with your Q.
I have an '09 Q5 and I had a leak on my passenger side. I read where there was TSB about a EVAP seal that need to be resealed. It wasn't ehe EVAP drain at the floor, but it was something in the dash panel.

I'm not sure how different the Q7 and Q5 are, but it's worth taking a look. The dealer is resealing mine as we speak.

Default Dealer fixing / replacing four drain hoses from sunroof

So I must thank everyone here. I had the water leak happen to me . I took the car to the dealer and st first I was told the four drain hoses are dry rotted and need replacement by me. I advised them that this is a manufacturer defect and that I have read about it . The person asked if I wanted her to call Audi and go to bat for me for them to be responsible which I of course agreed to. A few minutes later she calls me and Audi agreed to fix this in their own tab !!

Did Audi reimburse you for this issue? Did you deal with your local Audi dealer?
