Default rear tail gate not closing

hi still no joy with tailgate closing. I can get it to open but not close. I have put a volt meter on the lock and getting 6.4 v ?? should this be about 12 v? anyone any ideas please ? cheers in advance nick in the uk

How are you trying to close it? Are you using the button on the hatch?

Tried both remote and button on tailgate

Try holding the tailgate button down for about 10 seconds when it's fully open. That resets the tailgate.

This worked for me when my tailgate was having issues opening all the way and wasn't opening fully. If it's not opening fully you also need to gently force the tailgate to the fully open position prior to the reset.

when you press the tailgate switch do you hear the solenoid or actuator engage?
