I just had a Nav retrofitted to my Q7. Everything seems to be working fine but due to whatever reason, it's not very accurate. For example, if I make a turn, sometimes it doesn't pick up on the turn and shows that I'm still going straight. This could last a long time. Sometimes it would refresh itself and place me at the correct spot. Is this a problem with calibration? I have tried setting the starting location but the problem is still there. My Nav on my A3 never had this problem but that was a RNS-E. I'm getting signals from 8-9 sats. So could this be an installtion problem with the antenna?
Thanks in advance, any advice or suggestion would help.
p.s. also posted this in navparts.com

1- Is your disk original
2- Did you make sure all your connections are snapped in correctly?
3- Did you connect the right fiber cables to the right receptacles?
4- From your question, I am confused, did you retrofit MMI High or simply the NAV drive?

1- Using a burnt copy of V9, but I also have an older original copy DVD I could try. Would that be the cause? I don't see how the maps could effect this, can it?
2- I did not do the installation myself. But it shows that I have 9-11 satellite, so I'm guessing the antenna isn't the problem. The DVD unit is also talking to the MMI, so I'm not sure that's the problem.
3- Same as #2, could this be the cause?
4- I retrofitted the DVD drive. The MMI was standard on the Q7 Premium.
Thank you very much for your time and help.

But there's nothing wrong with the direction that's showing on the mirror. I'll definitely give it a try tomorrow though. Thanks for the advice.

If the compass recalibration doesn't work, do you have access to a VAG-COM? If so, maybe post up an Auto-scan along with your options list and we could compare it to other cars to see if there are any obvious coding changes that need to be done?

I had a "copy" of the navigation CD for my Infiniti and it would work fine and then sometime it would just stop. not always at the same place and many time in a position that worked correctly before. The original CD never did it.
Could not figure it out so the "copy" became a coaster.
