I have a 2010 Q7 3.0 TDi S Line with the Tech pach High, which includes the reversing camera. I had a Bosal removable towbar fitted yesterday and now the reversing camera won't stay on for more than about 3 seconds. I had the towbar professionally fitted with a dedicated loom and the installer said he did some coding so that certain systems (reversing sensors, etc.) would be over-ridden if I was towing something.
I'm suspecting that this is a simple coding issue. The installer is coming back tomorrow to take another look at it, but any advice on this issue would be welcome.
Thanks
Mike

Hi, thanks for your reply. I don't know is the answer to that. An installer supplied and fitted the kit. Do you have any more info on this control module so I can ask the right questions when he comes back?
Thanks
Mike

Take a look through some of these pages so you get a better idea of what he might be doing.
He should look for fault codes before he changes anything in case its a connection problem but like you, I suspect he just coded the camera to time out instead/as well of the rear sensors to cancel when trailer mode is activated.
Just a quick thought... is your car manually in trailer/towing mode now via MMI?
It should automatically switch when trailer electrics are plugged in anyway and likewise cancel on unplug.

Thanks for your replies. The installer came out again this morning and checked for DTC's. There were a few and he cleared them and they came back again. He checked the wiring and when he'd replaced the rear bumper the other day there was a plug that he hadn't put back together properly. All sorted now.
Thanks
Mike
