Default Rubber Mat Suggestion

Last week I bought a set of light brown rubber mats for my wife's A3 Sportback from Weather Tech. She has the beige interior which is nice, but has a very light colour carpet which shows the dirt easily. The idea with these rubber mats was to put them on top of the existing carpet mats. Well the mats they sent are very generic and not a very good fit at all for the A3. So I tried them in my Cardamon beige Q7 (again, on top of the existing carpet mats). With a little standard trimming for the rears, they fit beautifully. The passenger side front fitted a dream, and after I made a small trim for the dead pedal, the drivers side one fitted beautifully too. I thoroughly reccommend this approach, especially if you don't like the Q7 carpet. They're made by Canon in the UK. They appear to have them in black and grey as well.

So I ordered the Audi rubber mats for my wife's A3.

Thanks for the tip. BTW, how do you think the foam backing on the Q7's floormats will hold up?

I don't see it as a problem since there is no movement between the mat and carpeted floor provided you keep the little "thingies" snapped in place. I guess you're thinking that the "berber" style Q7 carpet might be more abrasive to the foam backing than regular carpet would be?

It's just that they look flimsy. Like the foam backing is too soft a material to hold up to the foot traffic, that it will compress and rip or rub off over time. Whatever, I'll be getting allweather ones by the end of the summer. With all the previous talk about the carpet...I kinda like the carpet texture, but the mats are thin.

Default No problem.

A number of retailers sell Weather Tech mats, but here's where I bought mine. They offered free shipping and they arrived in a couple of days.

http://mats4less.com/weathertech-audi-a3-2005-floor-mats.html</a
