Default Scalloped tires any one

My tires are loud, I thought is was a wheel bearing. We replaced it and it didn't fix the problem. Mechanic says my tires ate all scalloped. They see it all the time on the all wheel drive Audi's. That's all they work on is VW's and audi's.
I still have a lot of tread left on these tires and they are shot they say. I'm going to just utrn the radio up and let my wife drive it. She doesn't know the difference. doing research on scalloping tires , most say it's teh shocks. I find that hard to believe in these cars. Also a side to side motion can do it. or is it because of how teh all wheel drive works?? I'm trying to figure this out. Mechanic says they only have luck with certain tire brands and types that last on Audi's. Most everything burns out at 12 - 15K miles. I have close to 20K on mine so far and I still have a lot of tread left just loud. Sounds just like a bearing going on the drivers front wheel. any one seeing the same thing??

I have 43k miles on my Q7, 27k on the original tires and 16k on the current set. No scalloping of any kind on either set.

Sounds like an alignment problem to me.

This is a suspension problem - typically implies weak suspension and may be a work out/weak shocks/springs

I have 22K miles on my OEM tires, and they are wearing very evenly, no scalloping.
