Default Second guessing 21" optional wheels, anybody have those?

Outta curiosity I went to tirerack website to figure out if they even sell replacement tires for the 21" wheels that I ordered with my Q7 and looks like there are 8 tires (wow, eight tires! ) to choose from. If you search for 20" tires there is plenty, so the question is do any of you guys have 21" on their cars and if so what is the ride quality? If you had to order again would you go for 21" or stick with 20"?

Both my Touaregs run on 18" because I do take them offroad now and then and bigger wheels don't really look that great on a Touareg. Q7 is a different story, I think wheel wells are so damn big that a 22" would probably look ok in there.

Any feedback is appreciated!

p.s. I'm glad to be in audi land again!

Default Iceman is the new TDI going to replace

one or both of the T-regs? Just curious. I feel bad that we'll be replacing the Touareg because I really like it, but the Q7 TDI makes a lot more sense (except financial of course!)

I'm replacing my V8 Touareg so that I don't have to figure out first which car I'm in today (gas or diesel) in order to pull to a correct gas station

I'm keeping my V10 touareg forever, I can blow socks off a C6 corvette from toll booth in that car!

I'm trying to imagine the amount of torque in your garage! Had the pleasure of test driving the V10TDI once, but I couldn't justify the price jump from the V8. Absolutely fabulous!

All non OEM. They are mods kits etc.. See notes, locations and pics via spreadsheet.

Default 21"

I have the S-line Factory 21's and great ride with no issue's. I do have the adjustable suspension though which gives me more choices as to ride quality so I would take that into consideration if you do not. My X5 4.8is had a terrible ride quality with the factory 20's.

Default My 2 cents

I ditched the 21's due to lack of all season options and the price of replacement.

I went down the 20's

Good:
Highway road noise lessened greatly (about 20%), especially over the small(er) bumb and expansion joints.
WAAAAAAAAAY Cheaper to replace tires.
WAAAAAAAAAY more options.
The truck/car looks much more like a truck, less like an big car.
The Snow Traction is mind blowingly good... better than my subaru's or AllRoad.

Bad:
Man did they look GOOOOOOOD. I miss that.
Handling was noticeably better on drive pavement and warm days esp.
Did I mention how good they look?

Ugly:
It says "goodyear" on my tires now... ugh.

The best feeling is when there is like a "ricer" behind you on interstate riding your tail for a mile even though you have cars in front of you in left lane. Once the lane clears you press the gas and subaru/honda/bmw/whatever is trying to catch up but can't...
