My dealer confirmed today that I can have them install the sirius unit into my Q7. The unit will cost $1250.00 plus there will be a couple of hours for installation so I am assuming around $1500 after tax. This seems crazy to me.
I am in Canada. Does anyone in the US know how much they are charging down there for this installation?

The Q7 satellite module is easily accessable. All AUdis are designed to have them as plug and play. In my S4--where the unit requires a lot of work to get to it--it is only a 1/2 hour job.
With the Q7 it appears that all you need to do is remove a panel and plug the module into the pre-wired slot. If your Q7 didn't come pre-wired, that is a different story, but I am not aware that any were prodced without the pre-wire even if you don't get the infotainment package. I could be wrong.

If you'd like to buy my Sirius module I'm happy to sell it to you for a reasonable price.
It's not as simple as removing the panel and plugging it in as the unit is mounted upside down and above the access panel. I'll have to take off the rear right panel and remove the mounting braket from the vehicle (module holding the tuner module, satellite module and a couple of other items) to get to the Sat module.
Perhaps I'll snap some pictures and post a how to FAQ for anyone else interested in doing the install after I'm done on Saturday.
Drop me a note at kevinray@rcn.com if you're interested in the Sirius module.

While the Sirius unit for the Q7 is the most expensive one available for the Audi models, it is not much more difficult to install than in an A3.
I just found this week that the price of the Q7 Sirius tuner is in the $900.00 range, but spending $1500.00 or more is excessive.
