sound malfunction

sound malfunction
something happened today and hopefully just transient and never to occur again. I turned on CD and noted.muffled sounds. Switching to Sirius the sound was also muffled. It was mostly the bass. In fact high frequency sounds like percussions and vocals were not audible. Had to play around DSP and eventually it restored the previous quality. Anyone with similar experience?

Is that real? Reminds me of the ctrl-alt and del button. Switched to a Mac.
Hopefully problem would not recur. If so will try that. Been wondering how to reboot the system.
